Why I Don't Like Mondays

As the day drawers to a close I sit hear pondering why I don't like Mondays!

Monday's means the end of the weekend and back to work. The alarm rings and you turn over and remember it is Monday. can actually explain. No don't pull the covers up and hide, this will only make it worse. It is time to get up and start the work week. No freedom to do what you want. Everyone wanting everything at once. Someone always interrupting to ask a question. What is there to look forward to?

Mondayitis can happen to the best of us. But rest assured: it’s a phenomenon science at least that is what one article I read said. It is all to do with sleep zones. That is sleep in on the weekend and pay the price on Monday morning. Thanks to your weekend lie-in(s), your circadian rhythms have changed from their normal position and so, when that alarm clock starts bleating, you’re still at your lowest body temperature. You are expected to be up and out into the world while still in your “circadian bed”. Sure, you’ll probably feel better by noon with the help of the circadian “wake-up zone” (and maybe a stiff coffee or two) but the bad start to Monday has put you behind and you spend the rest of the week in catch-up mode.

At least I am in good company Bob Geldolf wrote a song about it back in 1979.

Well the day is nearly over and I am now looking forward and counting - only 4 days til Saturday. This seems to sum it up!

Break in the rainy weather

Great weather in Brisbane this weekend - few clouds out now but now autumn has arrived we are enjoying a few hot and dry days.  Seems like months since we have had a rain free weekend.

Of course this means all the chores must be done - lawns mowed, edges cut, trees trimmed and weeds pulled. Had a fight with the whipper snipper so edges are not perfect but at least it looks better than when I started.  Weeds have taken over in gardens and out of them. Front garden weeded, back garden to go.

In between this have been reading up on Social Media topics and getting my head around blogs, rss feeds, google reader and every other application we are learning about. Had a couple of pod casts loaded on my ipad so I could listen while working outside so all time was not wasted.

Hope you are all enjoying whatever the weather gods have delivered for you today. Whoops just looked out the front window and the clouds are starting to build so might get the rain later after all.

First Ever Blog

Well never thought I would be writing a blog.  But always willing to try something new so here goes.  Just a bit about me - I have just enrolled in Graduate Certificate of Business (Executive Administration) and this is my first subject.  Haven't studied in more than 5 years and am still not sure if I am ready to start again.  Having started late to this subject and had to wait for my registration to come through I am now 2 weeks behind but working hard to catch up. Have learned so much in such a short time - all about Google+, Twitter, Bookmarking and so much more on Social Media.  Will be working hard over the weekend to catch up on everyone's tweets and blogs. I know for a lot of others this is a new area to explore as well so please keep passing on any hints or tips that you find. Tina
